Designsprint

A design print makes it possible to quickly prototype, design and test in a short time in collaboration with the client, or you. In a design print, a team of indefinite size works on a design issue for 5 days. Sprints usually end with a lot of enthusiasm and energy, because a team has something that seemed almost impossible in just a few days.

From the past we are used to first set up a large-scale design process in which we perfect a design to the fullest detail before it is shown to the outside world. The "new way" of designing is to start as small as possible, put down something in a week's time and then test it with the target group. This way you can check with minimal resources whether the idea has a chance of success or not. This method was developed by Google Ventures and is today embraced by many designers around the world. We also welcome this way of working together at 786tech.

Every design print goes through the 6 phases of design thinking. Design thinking is a continuous process that gives value from idea to product, resulting in a user-friendly and more beautiful product.

  • Understand: what are the needs and technological capabilities of the user?
  • Determine: what is the most important strategy and focus?
  • Deviate: how can we jointly discover as many ideas as possible?
  • Decisions: select the best ideas so far.
  • Prototype: developing a concept / prototype that makes it possible to test the ideas with the users.
  • Confirm: test the ideas with the users, stakeholders from the company and technical experts.

The design print is a method that is divided over 5 days.

Monday On Monday, the problem is defined and focus is placed on the goal of the sprint.

Tuesday On Tuesday, solutions from different perspectives are outlined.

Wednesday The Wednesday is used to make choices from the favorite ideas for a prototype of the solution. A start will also be made with developing the designs / concepts.

Thursday The Thursday is used for the further development of the designs / concepts.

Friday The last day of the sprint is used for the further elaboration of the designs / concepts. The final concept / prototype will also be tested on the Friday with the users. These users provide valuable insights to improve the product.
